Member-only story
If you’re reading this right now, you must be trying to get an invite to Foundation.app (Foundation), a semi-exclusive marketplace for NFTs. You’ve probably posted a number of invite requests on social media platforms but haven’t gotten any takers. I recently received an invite and wanted to share my experience.
The Invite Code Process
Foundation is an invite only NFT marketplace where anyone can join, as long as you have a Metamask wallet. As long as you have Ethereum, you can purchase any artwork on the Foundation platform. But, you can’t mint NFTs for sale. Only artists who have previously sold at least one NFT can create an invite that unlocks the NFT sales feature. Once an artist sells a NFT, they will receive an invite code which can be used to invite other creators. The code looks something like this (note: this code is not real):
This code can be shared with anyone but once it’s used, doesn’t work again.

Once you accept the invite, you are immediately able to create an Image or Video NFT.

So, how do I get an invite?
Unfortunately, there isn’t a single proven way to get an invite from another community member. But, I’ve heard of at least 3 options:
1. Have a close relationship with an existing community member. The obvious solution is to know someone who is a member, has had some sales and can get you an invite code.
2. Submit your work on the Foundation Discord. Legend says that some artists get invites by posting their work on the #intros-invites channel. But, I have yet to see anyone successfully get an invite from Foundation in the past couple of weeks.
3. Join an Invite train. Try to find a group or social media conversation where people are paying it forward by giving invites others on the thread.
4. Buy one. There isn’t a marketplace per se, so you’ll just have to ask individual community members to see if anyone is willing to sell you one. I’ve heard of people buying an invite anywhere from $300 to $4,000. It just depends on the person. Note: Foundation is banning users that sell invites so this can be a risky proposition.
I hope this helped clarify the Foundation invite process and wish you the best of luck in getting one.
